Mealworms are a popular feeder insect to bearded dragons, lizards, and many other creatures. In many cases the mealworm cannot be used as the basis of any diet, it is best to alternate mealworms with some of our other feeder insects.
Mealworms are high in protein and fat making them a great treat for your reptile or amphibian. Mealworms like darkness, thus it is best to keep them out of the sun. Furthermore, mealworms are easy to maintain and will not bite you or your reptile.

Tips for taking care of your live food Mealworms:
Our mealworms come with our specially grown and produced compound feed thus you do not have have to worry about adequate nutrient. Our compound feed ensures that these mealworms live a maximum lifespan and that the nutritional values are transferred over to the reptile or amphibian feeding on them.
It is important to note that these insects cannot be given standing water, so they need to get their moisture from veges such as carrots or potatoes. They will drown in standing water.
Mealworms should be generally kept at temperatures around 15- 18°C, so about room temperature. Furthermore, they should have bedding made from oats or bran in a plastic container with small holes for air rotation (but not big enough that they may escape).
Additionally, when storing your live food mealworms, it is best to store them in a dark place. They do not like bright lights or sunshine.
